Importance of textile testing and introduction to commonly used international standards for textile testing.

Textiles are skin-friendly items. The clothes we wear every day are made of textiles.

Different fabrics have different comfort levels and different properties. Mastering

some characteristics of textiles can help you better buy suitable clothes. , the

performance of different fabrics is different, and the way you design clothes will be

very different. Before garment fabrics are processed, the textiles will be tested for

different items, which can test the performance and composition of different fabrics.

Textile Testing

Textile testing is to test the fabric of textiles by some methods. Generally, we can

divide the testing methods into physical testing and chemical testing. Physical testing

is to measure the physical quantities of fabrics through some equipment or instruments,

and to conduct a finishing analysis to determine certain physical properties and qualities

of fabrics; while chemical testing is to use some chemical testing techniques and

chemical equipment to test textiles. Testing is mainly to detect the chemical properties

and chemical properties of textiles and analyze the composition and content of their

chemical components to determine what properties the textile fabrics have.

Textile Testing Standard

Commonly used international standards for textile testing are as follows:

GB18401-2003 National Basic Safety Technical Specification for Textile Products
DIN: German Standards Institute
AATCC: American Association of Textile Colorists
AS: Standards Australia
ASTM: American Society for Testing Materials
JIS: Japan Industrial Association
USCPSC: US Consumer Product Safety Commission
FZ: China Textile Industry Association
ISO: International Organization for Standardization
IWS: International Wool Bureau
BS: British Standards Institution
IDFB: International Down and Feather Bureau
CAN: Standards Council of Canada

What needs to be emphasized here is that in China, textile products that

do not meet the GB18401-2003 standard and cannot be sold on the market.
