What do functional shoes need to detect?

Shoes in general environmental conditions, various accidents can protect the wearer's foot and make the wearer from injury, and functional footwear products are designed to protect the human foot part in the harsh environment, most countries have formulated mandatory testing content and requirements.

Compulsory testing of footwear products includes:

(1) Safety performance test of safety footwear products, mainly including:

① Safety shoe and toe impact resistance test;

② Safety toe compression resistance test;

③ Wear resistance test for safety shoes;

④ Safety shoe upper anti-cutting test;

⑤ Safety shoes, flame retardant test etc.

(2) Safety footwear products and non-safety footwear products tested for chemical hazards and microbial content testing, including the following:

① Formaldehyde content test;

② PH test;

③ Hazardous heavy metal content test;

④ Hazardous microbial testing, etc

There can also be some mandatory tests, such as appearance performance testing, physical performance testing, service life detection, etc.

The methods and standards of appearance performance detection are:

① Color fastness test: AATCC 8 / 116, ASTM D1593, BS 1006 X12, BS 1006 UK LC, CIN 53339, ISO 105 / 11640, JIS 0849, SATRA TM8 / TM167 / PM173

② Yellow change resistance test: ASTM C1148

③ Color shift test: AATCC 163

There is currently an ASTM D1175 Abrasion Testing Equipment, which measures the wear resistance of materials, and evaluates the product wear resistance by using wear tests, such as measuring quality loss, thickness loss, and light transmittance. This largely detects the degree of wear and puncture resistance
