Introduction of Electrostatic Discharge Tester
In order to protect the equipment from electrostatic damage and the reliability of the product and the system ,especially because of application of micro electric components ,it is important for the manufacture or the users to consider the electrostatic damage.
The electrostatic problem has something with the environments and the conditions of usage.It may generate electrostatic while using artificial fiber especially. For example , while the operator stepping on the carpet of the ground in the lab, the charge may generate between his body and the fiber because of friction;adaptationally,the charge switch may occur between the operator and his chair. The operator can get charge directly or by static electricity. For the latter , conducted carpet can not generate any protective functions ,except the operator adopts some measures of connecting to the ground.
Figure 1 provides that different fiber will generate different electrostatic under the condition of different humidity.
Standard introduction of IEC61000-4-2
Because IEC61000-4 standard is a basic standard issued by IEC, it fits EMC tests of all kinds of electric and electronic equipments . It is necessary to introduce sub-standard (IEC61000-4-2) as the test of electrostatic discharge.
