Major changes to toy standard ISO 8124-1:2018
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has released the 2018 edition of ISO 8124-1 (Safety of Toys-Part 1: Safety aspects related to mechanical and physical properties). This standard applies to toys intended for children under the age of 14, most of which are based on the existing toy standards of the European Union (EN 71-1) and the existing toy standards of the United States (ASTM F963). The main changes are as follows:
